This is the start of something that has been a long time coming. As a devoted fan of fashion and style blogs for as long as I've known what the internet was, I've always played around with the idea of starting my own (but never mustered up enough courage to actually follow through). Obviously, I've had a change of heart. Inspired by my favorite blogger, The College Prepster, I decided that I have an outlook on the things I love that is worth reading.
I guess a little introduction about myself is in order. I am a sophomore at Boston University studying journalism, toying with the idea of becoming the next Anna Wintour or editor-in-chief of The Washington Post. Some of my fondest memories from my childhood involve reading the kids section of the newspaper alongside my bowl of Fruit Loops every morning before heading off for elementary school. Of course, if a career in news does not pan out, my fall-back is to open a bakery serving my favorite Italian desserts (I'm almost positive cannolis and pignolis have healing powers). I grew up in the Maryland suburbs of Washington, D.C., acquiring a love for all things first ladies, politics and an appreciation for a good cupcake.
If I had a choice, I'd live my life outfitted in matching pajama sets and my thick-rimmed, tortoiseshell eye glasses. I'm a self-proclaimed foodie (an avid fan of food trucks), and will never say no to a fish taco or a plate stacked high with chicken pad thai. Most things I own have my monogram on them, and I'm rarely seen without my iPhone in hand (9 times out of 10 scrolling through my Twitter feed). I'm a Kate Middleton/Audrey Hepburn-obsessed, type A workaholic that sometimes finds herself terribly disorganized.
This blog is my creative journey in the world of fashion, food and fun. Here is the beginning.
